The Toporaș Online Art Gallery at the Guild showed there is great interest in art in the Wandsworth area of London.
During the first two weekends of October, our exhibition drew attention primarily as a social event. The Toporaș Online Art Gallery at the Guild was part of the Wandsworth Artists’ Open House, which annually attracts those eager to explore new art trails.
Many art-lovers in the area were surprised to see paintings by Moldovan artists displayed in London for the first time. The general feeling they expressed was: “Different and so interesting”.
The exhibition featured original paintings by eleven leading Moldovan artists, all created in the post-Soviet period, when limits on free expression have been lifted and new aesthetic tendencies and painting techniques have been encouraged.
The challenges we faced in organising the first full-fledged exhibition of Moldovan fine art in London – indeed, the first such exhibition in the U.K. – were numerous. But the work was worth it. We enjoyed meeting art-lovers offline, and we found it a useful and fulfilling experience.
Some of the original paintings are still stored in London, but only for a limited time. In case anyone might still be thinking of getting a present for themselves or a friend -- and of getting a better deal than is available online -- we have created an electronic catalogue of the artworks still available this autumn.
Our new offer for most of the paintings includes FREE delivery in London and negotiable prices. Please get in touch for more details here or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Our next event for us is the Windsor Contemporary Art Fair (stand 93), on November 12-13. We will be exhibiting works of three of our artists: Veronica Iftodii, Gheorghe Lisița and Gheorghe Țărnă.
We hope that time will bring well-deserved appreciation for the artworks that we select and promote to make this world better by shaping it through art.
